After that, from there I walked for two hours, climbing a high mountain, and when the evening came I spent the night in the mountain village of Arminos. I spent the night in the manor house of the famous and rich archpriest, who was skilled in both secular and religious issues, called Father Michael, who was the half-brother of the deposed Bishop Joachim, of whom I have spoken earlier.

Father Michael, after having purchased the land, founded the Church of the Holy Cross and built several monastic cells. The builders have toiled with great effort day and night trying to fulfill his wish to establish a monastery and to gather monks to live there, and may God help him. He greeted me with hospitality and I spent the evening and the night there.
